Meghan Runkle Bernard learned every type of art one could teach on her way to her degree in art education. As she was learning ceramics, though, she found herself producing more projects than her course work required. Eventually she set up her own studio, which she calls "The Art Dungeon," and started submitting her work to art shows. When she is not in the studio, she enjoys knitting and cross-stitching.
Meghan Runkle Barnard has been working with clay for about five years. Her studio is based out of her home in Asheville, NC. All of her pottery is dishwasher and microwave safe. The glazes are also completely non-toxic and safe for everyday use.
Artist's Statement
"My main concern when designing and producing pottery is function, closely followed by form and surface. I want each piece to relay an invitation for use. Ceramics is an intimate art form, it is made to be touched and used daily by the owner in both everyday activities as well as special occasions. I hope that one of these pieces can find a special place in your life." |
